Kaoru Tsubaki is the Physical Education (P.E.) teacher in the cram school. Often referred to as "Ol' Sideburns" by his students, he is well known to abruptly cancel and/or leave class upon receiving a call from a woman currently identified only as 'Kitten', which is the name he calls her.
Tsubaki has a very well defined chin, thick eyebrows, and very large sideburns on either side of his head, hence his nickname "Ol' Sideburns". He has short, brown hair and wears the standard Exorcist teacher's uniform.
He is a hyperactive teacher that voices opinions rather quickly. He is also always there for his "kitten" / "honey" (His lover/wife). She seems to be Tsubaki's top priority, as he abandons his job often when she needs him.
He appears first as the Cram Class's P.E teacher. He scolds Rin and Ryuji for trying to treat the lesson as a race when being chased by chained Leapers. When he receives a call from a woman whom he addresses as 'Kitty', he cancels the P.E class and leaves. Before he left, he warned the class not to do anything funny or play with the Leapers without a teacher or himself around.
He has shown to be able to maintain consciousness, even after being possessed by Satan. Being an Exorcist teacher, his Exorcism abiltities must be quite strong, but Tsubaki hasn't displayed them yet. The type of Exorcist he is, also hasn't been revealed yet.
He is also known as the teacher who is the most likely to spill information. When the Exwire group is trying to gain information on why things are drastically changing at the academy, they realise that Yukio won't tell them anything, but three of them respond with his name to a comment about a "teacher with a bigger mouth."
