Demon of the Deep Seas (深海の悪魔 Shinkai no Akuma) is the 11th episode of the Ao no Exorcist anime overall and of the first season. It first aired on June 26, 2011.
Synopsis[]
Rin and his classmates Izumo and Renzo are sent for their first mission as Exwires to a coast town afflicted by the presence of a Kraken whose ink blackens the sea. Izumo stumbles upon a boy, Yohei, whose father went to sea to face theKraken six months before and is still missing. Yohei plans to enact his revenge against the creature as he believes it killed his father. After telling Izumo she's cute, she takes an interest in Yohei. The ExWires are ordered to watch over Yohei before he exacts his revenge, believing he is no match.
Izumo volunteers to watch the boy while Rin and Shima encounter the Kraken. Rin's cat familiar, Kuro, battles it but fails and the Kraken is attacked by Yohei using a harpoon. Rin comes to the rescue and is about to use his sword when Yohei's father comes unexpectantly. It is revealed that the father befriended the Kraken and was lost but the Demon had a change of heart and guided him back home. Yohei and his dad have a touching reunion. Afterwards, Rin, Shima, and Izumo wait for the bus to take them home when Yohei comes with his dog to bid them farewell. Izumo discovers to her dismay that she was cute to Yohei for she reminded him of his dog (who has the same eyebrows as Izumo).
